Configuring Splashtop at a policy level
Updated over 2 months ago

In SuperOps, you can configure Splashtop at the policy level for different clients with granular control over your remote desktop settings. You can be as granular as you like and customize the way you want Splashtop to work for different clients.

Note: Policy level changes for Splashtop will not work if you use your own (BYOB) Splashtop license. It will work only if you use the SuperOps license.

How to configure Splashtop at a policy level

1. go to Settings > Policy Management.

2. Select your desired policy set and click Remote Desktop.

3. Turn on the toggle button to enable Splashtop.

4. Configure your Basic Settings. Hit Save once done.

  • For Linux devices, sound settings may not work as expected. This is an ongoing issue with Splashtop that they are trying to fix.

Things to note

1. Once you enable a Splashtop policy for a client, SuperOps will do one of two things on the end-user's device:

  • If the end-user's device has Splashtop installed, SuperOps will update Splashtop settings based on the configurations you have set up in the policy.

  • If the end-user's device does not have Splashtop installed, SuperOps will go ahead and install it with the same configurations as per the policy.

2. If you use Asset Group-based policy, the most recently created asset group's policy will take precedence.

3. Splashtop Work From Home and Splashtop Premium will apply only when Splashtop is enabled at the policy level. The settings configured at the policy level will apply as is on the requester's end as well.

4. The Remote and Install Splashtop buttons will appear in the asset page only if Splashtop policy is installed and enabled for that particular asset. If Splashtop policy is disabled, these options will not be available in the UI.
