Terms we use:

  • Known assets:
All assets that are recognized by SuperOps.ai and already a part of our SysObject library will be listed as known assets.

  • Unknown assets

Network devices (including printers) that respond to your probe but are not part of SuperOps.ai’s SysObject library will be listed under unknown assets.

  • Failed assets

The network devices that do not respond to our probe’s SNMP discovery will be marked as failed assets. There are multiple reasons why an asset falls into this category:

    • The credentials given for this client or site are invalid

    • The network device is not SNMP-enabled

    • The profile is unmatched

  • Ignored assets

Network devices you mark as “Ignore” after scanning fall into this category. These devices will not be monitored by the SuperOps probe.

  • Added to monitoring

Network devices you mark as “Add” after scanning fall into this category. These devices will be monitored by the SuperOps probe.

Managing network devices

  1. Once the network scan is complete, you will see a list of all clients and sites that have been scanned on the “Network Scans” page.

  2. Click “Assets Discovered” under the total asset count column to view the list of known, unknown, and failed assets for that client and site.

3. The Known Assets tab allows you to add or ignore assets. The assets that are added will be monitored, while the assets that are ignored won't be. You can do this by clicking on the Add/Ignore option as shown below.

4. You can also bulk-select the assets you want to Add / Ignore.

5. In the Unknown Assets tab, you'll be able to see the list of all unknown assets discovered. You can click the Ignore button to mark them as assets the probe will not monitor.

6. You can convert an unknown asset to a known asset manually, by adding the Manufacturer, Device Type, and Model details using the Take action button.

7. If your asset model is not available in the dropdown, you can create a new model as well.

8.In the failed assets tab, you can re-scan view why the asset failed, or ignore the asset.

📝Note: You can also see the list of all discovered devices under all clients, sites, and subnets in one place. Here’s how:

Navigate to Modules > Network Monitor > Discovered assets

You can also do all of the above-mentioned actions from this page.
