SuperOps provides a structured way to remove Mobile Device Management MDM configurations. This is particularly useful for IT teams when decommissioning device management during a company transition, rebuilding the MDM setup after a configuration error, switching Apple or Google accounts, or resetting integrations that were set up incorrectly.

It gives IT administrators full control to cleanly remove configurations without leaving devices partially managed or certificates active in the background.

You can choose to delete an entire organization's configuration (which removes both Android and Apple setups) or delete specific components individually.

Warning: Deleting MDM configurations is generally irreversible. It will stop device management, remove associated assets, and revoke licenses. Please review the impact warnings on the confirmation screens carefully before proceeding.

Deleting the entire organization configuration

Deleting the organization configuration removes all Android and Apple MDM integrations, policies, and associated assets. This action cannot be undone.

  1. Navigate to the MDM configuration page. ( Settings-> MDM configuration )

  2. To delete everything, click the Delete Organisation Configuration button in the top right corner. A confirmation pop-up will appear detailing the permanent consequences, such as the removal of the configuration and all associated data.

Deleting Android configurations

You can remove the Android Enterprise connection without affecting Apple configurations. This is often done during tenant migration or if the wrong Google account was connected.

  1. On the Android tab of the MDM configuration page, locate the Android Enterprise details.

  2. Click the trash icon next to the Android Enterprise name and select Delete Android Enterprise ID from the dropdown menu.

  3. Review the confirmation modal. This explains that the action will permanently disconnect Android device management and factory reset fully managed devices. Click Delete Android Enterprise to confirm.

Deleting Apple configurations

In many organizations, Apple MDM components such as APNs, Automated Device Enrollment, and Apps and Books may need to be reset individually rather than removing the entire Apple setup.

For example, an APNs certificate may have been generated using the wrong Apple ID, ADE may be mapped to the wrong Apple Business Manager account, or Apps and Books may be connected to an incorrect location.

To avoid disrupting all managed devices, SuperOps allows you to delete and reconfigure specific components as needed.

  1. Navigate to the Apple tab on the MDM configuration screen.

  2. Click the trash icon next to the Automated Device Enrollment section. This will reveal a menu with three distinct deletion choices: Delete APNs, Delete Automated Device Enrollment, and Delete Apps and Books.

Delete APNs certificate

Deleting the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) certificate immediately stops communication with Apple devices. Devices remain enrolled but become unmanaged.

  • Select Delete APNs from the menu. A confirmation dialog will appear explaining that this permanently disconnects Apple device management and removes the Apple Business Manager (ABM) integration.

Delete Automated Device Enrollment (ADE)

This removes the ADE configuration from SuperOps. Note that the profile must also be deleted in the Apple Business Manager (ABM) portal to be fully removed.

  • Select Delete Automated Device Enrollment. The confirmation modal clarifies that this only removes the configuration from SuperOps; new devices cannot auto-enroll, but existing devices remain unaffected.

Delete Apps and Books

Deleting this integration revokes all VPP licenses assigned through Apple. Managed apps may be removed from devices, but the MDM enrollment itself remains intact.

  • Select Delete Apps and Books. A warning pop-up will indicate that all VPP app licenses will be revoked.

Summary

For IT teams, managing MDM configurations is part of maintaining device control, security, and operational accuracy. Whether you are transitioning to a new platform, correcting an account level setup issue, or restructuring your Apple or Android integrations, it is important to understand the impact of deletion before proceeding.

Deleting MDM configurations can immediately stop device communication, revoke app licenses, or prevent new device enrollments. Always review the confirmation details carefully to ensure you are not unintentionally disrupting active devices.

SuperOps provides clear warnings and structured delete controls so IT teams can confidently reset or decommission configurations while maintaining security and system integrity.
