Android Device policies in SuperOps MDM allow you to configure and enforce key system settings across your managed Android devices. This ensures they remain secure, compliant, and connected according to your organization's standards. You can manage Wi-Fi networks, enforce password rules, and control OS update schedules.
Getting Started with Android Device Policies
To begin, navigate to the Policy Management section and select 'Android Device Policies'. From the policy editor, you can configure settings for passwords, networks, App Management and OS updates.
Password Policy
Define password complexity rules to enhance device security and ensure compliance.
Select Password from the left-hand navigation menu and enable the main toggle to activate password settings.
Configure the password requirements, such as Password type, Minimum password length, and rules for restricting password reuse.
For enhanced security, you can require users to re-enter their password daily by checking the box for Enforce user to enter password every 24 hours.
Click Save to apply the password policy.
Network Configuration
Pre-configure Wi-Fi networks to help devices connect automatically and securely without manual user intervention.
Select Network from the left-hand menu and enable the Wi-Fi toggle.
Click the Add button to open the 'Add Wi-Fi Configuration' window.
In the pop-up window, enter the Wi-Fi Name (SSID), select the appropriate Security Type, and enter the Wi-Fi Password. You can also enable Auto-Join to allow devices to connect to this network automatically.
Click Save to add the network to your policy.
π‘ Tip: Always verify Wi-Fi credentials to ensure connectivity. Misconfigured details can make devices non-communicable. To prevent lockouts, enable Network Escape Hatch so users can temporarily connect to another Wi-Fi if needed.
OS Update Policy
Control when and how your managed Android devices install system updates to minimize disruption to user productivity. SuperOps MDM pushes OS updates based on the Android updates released by Google or the device manufacturer. Admins can define when these updates are applied to ensure minimal disruption to users.
Navigate to the OS Update section from the left-hand menu and enable the toggle to manage update settings.
Select your preferred update schedule. Choose Allowed anytime to install updates as soon as they are available, or select Allowed only during to define a specific maintenance window for installations.
Click Save to finalize your OS update settings.
