Enforce security and streamline connectivity for your managed Apple devices by configuring password requirements, Wi-Fi networks, and proxy settings directly within your iOS and iPadOS policies. This guide will walk you through setting up Password and Network configurations to ensure your devices comply with organizational standards.
To Manage your policies, Navigate to Settings >Policy Management-> Apple iOS Device policies/ Apple IPadOS device policies. Select the policy you wish to configure
Note: You can filter configurations based on Supervised and Unsupervised devices. Unsupervised devices offer limited configuration options, as restricted by Apple.
Password Management
Password Policies help enforce security standards on managed iOS and iPadOS devices. You can define password complexity by setting minimum length, special characters, and alphanumeric requirements, enforce periodic password changes, restrict reuse of old passwords, and configure auto-lock time to keep devices secure.
Configuring Password Settings
Navigate to the policy management section and select an 'Apple IOS Device policies' to edit.
From the left-hand menu, click on 'Password' to access the password settings for the policy.
Click the 'Add Password Configuration' button. This will enable the password settings, allowing you to define rules such as minimum length, character requirements, and an auto-erase function after a specified number of failed attempts.
Network settings
Consists of Wifi and Proxy configurations
Wi-Fi and Proxy configurations let you control how managed iOS and iPadOS devices connect to networks. You can predefine Wi-Fi credentials for seamless connectivity to trusted networks and route device traffic through a proxy server for secure, filtered internet access.
Configuring Network Settings
From the left-hand menu, navigate to the 'Network' section to configure network settings for the devices.
In the Wi-Fi section, click the 'Add' button to create a new Wi-Fi configuration.
A pop-up window will appear. Enter the 'Wi-Fi Name' (SSID) and 'Password'. You can also configure other advanced options like Security Type and Auto-Join.
After filling in the details, click 'Save' to add the Wi-Fi network to the policy. The network will now appear in the configurations list.
To route device traffic through a proxy, enable the 'Proxy' toggle. Enter the required proxy server details, such as the Server Host, Port, Username, and Password.
After configuring all necessary password and network settings, click the main 'Save' button at the top right of the policy page. These configurations will then be applied to all devices assigned to this policy, ensuring consistent security and connectivity across your fleet of iOS and iPadOS devices.
