How to Manage iOS and iPadOS devices

Learn how to manage iPadOS devices, view MDM details, and perform remote actions in SuperOps.

SuperOps gives your team full visibility and control over Apple iOS and iPadOS devices, including compliance status, MDM details, and remote actions, all from a single console.

Viewing Device Details and Compliance

  1. Navigate to the Apple iPadOS category from the left-hand menu to view the list of all associated iPad assets.

  2. Select a specific device from the list to open its summary page. Here, you can see an overview of the device's storage, OS update status, and compliance.

  3. Click on the DETAILS tab to view in-depth information about the device's configuration, including security and privacy settings.

  4. Within the Details tab, you can navigate through different sections using the left menu. Click MDM to check the Mobile Device Management status, Device UDID, and other related details.

  5. Switch to the APPS tab to review the list of managed applications installed on the device. This includes their bundle IDs, versions, and whether they are currently up to date.

Managing Device Policies

SuperOps allows you to inspect and customize the policies applied to your individual devices to ensure flexible policy application.

  1. Click on the POLICIES tab to inspect the device policies currently applied to the asset.

  2. To modify the policy specifically for this asset, click Customize this policy link on the left side of the screen.

Performing Remote Actions

For added security and control, you can perform various remote actions directly from the device management page.

  1. Use the action buttons at the top right of the page to manage the device remotely. Click the dropdown icon to reveal additional options such as Erase Device, Restart, and Shut Down.

  2. If you need to remove the device's passcode, click the Clear Passcode button. A confirmation dialog will appear; click Confirm to initiate the process.

  3. To remotely lock the device, click the Lock the screen button and enter a message you'd like to display on the device lock screen.

  4. If a device is lost or misplaced, click Enable Lost Mode to immediately lock the device and mark it as lost. You will be prompted to enter a custom message and phone number to display on the device's lock screen.

Once Lost Mode is enabled, SuperOps identifies the device's location and updates the summary page with the coordinates and a link to view them on a map. From the summary page, you can view the message displayed on the lock screen and play a sound on the device remotely.
