How to manually enroll iOS Devices - SuperOps MDM [EARLY ACCESS]

Learn how to manually enrol Apple devices in SuperOps Platform

Updated this week

SuperOps MDM allows you to manage your Apple devices efficiently. This guide walks you through the process of manually enrolling an iPhone or iPad, which is ideal for small-scale or ad-hoc deployments.

Prerequisities

Before you start enrollment, ensure that the APN certificate is configured with SuperOps.

SuperOps MDM offers two ways to onboard and manage Apple devices:

  • Manual Enrollment (Unsupervised devices)
Best suited for small or ad-hoc deployments. Devices are added individually using a QR code.
All manually enrolled devices are unsupervised, as mandated by Apple.

  • Automated Device Enrollment (ADE – Supervised devices)
Integrated with Apple Business Manager (ABM) for zero-touch deployment. Devices are automatically configured and supervised during setup.

    • Devices running iOS 12 and above are supervised by default (Apple requirement).

    • For iOS versions below 12, supervision is determined by the ADE profile defined in your SuperOps policy setup

Supervised vs. Unsupervised Devices

  • Supervised devices enable full management—advanced policies, remote actions (Lock, Wipe, Lost Mode), and detailed visibility.

  • Unsupervised devices have limited policy and command access, suitable for basic management needs.

Getting started with manual Enrollment

  1. Navigate to Settings > MDM configuration and choose the client you'd like to enroll devices for.

  2. Choose the enrollment process for an iPhone or iPad and select a requestor and site.

Note : If you have chosen the Advanced Hierarchical policy, you can also choose the "Device category" as a part of the enrolment process

3. Click Generate QR. A QR code will be displayed, which can be scanned by the device to install the enrollment profile.

You will find an option to send an email to the user with the instructions on how to manually enrol the device.

Next Steps

Once the device is enrolled, it will appear in your asset list under Asset Views. You can then begin applying policies and managing the devices.
