Downloading and Deploying the SuperOps agent
Updated yesterday

What does the agent do?

In a nutshell, the SuperOps agent installed on a user’s device creates a deeper connection between the IT admin and the endpoints in their network. It gives admins greater control over their devices, ensuring systems stay functional and secure, even remotely. The agent communicates with the admin console to send critical information about the device, keeping admins updated on its status. This allows them to take proactive measures to troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely.

Now that we know what the agent does, let’s take a look at how you can download the agent to install on your organization’s devices.

How to download the SuperOps agent:

To deploy agents for specific teams or locations, you'll need to select the appropriate site for deployment. SuperOps will generate site-specific agents for your organizational use.

📝 Note: If you’re new to SuperOps, a default site named Headquarters has already been created for you. You can create additional sites as needed. Agents won't appear for any existing demo data in the system.

  1. To download the agent, navigate to Modules > Assets

  2. Click the Download Agent button on the top of the page.

  • Windows: Windows 8.1 and newer; Windows Server 2012 R2 and newer.

Prerequisites for downloading the agent in your asset:

For Windows devices,

  1. Enable PowerShell and WMI.

  2. Grant admin privileges for the MSI installer.

For Mac devices,

  1. Enable Full Disk Access and Screen Recording for the SuperOps agent.

Setting up full disk access:

  1. Go to Settings on your Mac device.

  2. Click "Privacy and Security" > "Full Disk Access."

  3. Enable SuperOps and Splashtop Streamer as shown below.

Ensure that any antivirus software or firewalls on the asset don’t block the SuperOps agent. You can do so by whitelisting the following URLs used by the agent to download script module files and auto-updates:

For users in the Global (US) Region:

For users in the EU Region:

SuperOps should have the permissions needed to execute a script from the default folders.

📝 Note: Do not rename the .msi and .pkg agent files, as the system will not be able to recognize the installed agent on the user's device if the name is changed.

💡 SuperTip: The copy option copies the URL of the agent to the clipboard, which can be used in scripts to deploy agents.
